Corn Deep Processing

Corn Deep Process Flow
Impurities removal in the destoner or grader firstly and then the pure grain be transformed to the intensive dampener, after intensive and gentle dampening, the corn will be peeled and crushed in the pulverizer. After the flour extracting, the corn will go through the degerming and germ separating machine and be milled further in the pulverizer. At the end of the procedure, the produced corn flour will be packed by the automatic packing machine.
Processing steps
Raw materials → screening → peeling and degerming → adding water and stirring → forming → cooling → drying → screening → finished products → packaging
(1)Selection of materials
Use corn with full kernels and no mold or insects as the raw material. Either yellow or white corn can be used.
(2)Cleaning
Various impurities such as stones, iron wires, and straw sticks are removed from the corn, and the corn is sieved through a 6 mm diameter sieve to remove small grains of corn and soil to obtain corn with uniform grain sizes. It is best to use a cleaning machine for this process, which not only saves labor, but also obtains high-quality corn kernels.
(3) Peeling and degermination
The cleaned corn must first be hydrated and soaked in hot steam or hot water above 90°C for 3 to 5 minutes. Then use a rice mill or horizontal degerming machine to grind the corn, and the corn embryos and skins will fall off and be removed with a winnowing machine. Corn challah is processed into fine cornmeal using a steel mill.
(4) Add water and stir
Add an appropriate amount of water to the cornmeal and stir evenly in a blender for no less than 15 minutes to allow the water to completely penetrate into the starch granules.
(5) Molding
This is a key step in processing corn. The evenly stirred cornmeal is directly put into the cornmeal molding machine and heated, extruded and puffed into shape. At the discharge port of the extruder, the rice-shaped particles are continuously cut through the cutting knife. The rotation speed of the cutting knife must be adjusted appropriately, otherwise the corn will be either too long or too short. Try to make the shape of the corn similar to that of rice.
(6) Drying
The corn rice coming out of the molding machine still has a high water content and is easy to stick to pieces. It must be cooled to loosen the stuck rice grains and then put into a dryer for drying. The temperature in the dryer is controlled at around 200°C and the moisture content is below 5%.
(7) Screening
Use a sieve with an aperture of 1.5 mm to sieve to remove powder, broken rice, large particles, and sticky particles to make the rice grains neat and even.
(8)Packaging
The screened corn is immediately packed quantitatively in plastic bags, and the packaging specifications are determined according to needs. Wheat flour, bean flour and other grain flour can be added to corn flour to make “nutritional rice” rich in various nutrients.
