Flaxseed oil manufacturing process

Pretreatment stage of flaxseed

Oil screening: This stage does not involve direct temperature control, but the screened linseed raw materials should be free of impurities, with an impurity content of less than 0.5%.

Roasting stage (hot pressing method)

Temperature and time control: When flax seeds are roasted in a cylindrical seed frying pot, the temperature and moisture of the pot need to be properly controlled. The specific temperature and time are adjusted according to the characteristics of the equipment and raw materials, but excessive temperatures should be avoided.

Flaxseed oil pressing stage

Cold pressing method: During the cold pressing process, the temperature must be strictly controlled. Generally speaking, the temperature during cold pressing should be kept below 40°C. The use of a double-screw press can keep the first pressing process below 40 degrees.

Hot pressing method: Although hot pressing method can increase the oil yield, excessive temperature will destroy the components in the oil. Therefore, in heat treatment processes such as baking, frying, and steaming, the temperature should be strictly controlled to avoid exceeding the critical temperature for oxidation or polymerization of α-linolenic acid in linseed oil.

Flaxseed oil refining stage

Degumming, decolorization, deacidification, and deodorization: in the refining process, temperature control is equally important. For example, during the degumming process, the oil temperature should reach 60-75°C; during the deacidification process, the oil temperature should be controlled at 65-70°C. These temperature ranges are set to ensure removal of impurities while avoiding excessive oxidation of the grease.

Flaxseed oil filtration and packaging stage

Filtration temperature: During the filtration process, temperature control measures should be developed independently to maintain the oil temperature below 40 degrees, that is, the double cold pressing process to ensure the original quality of linseed oil.

Packaging temperature: When packaging, the oil temperature should be avoided to be too high to prevent the oil from oxidizing or deteriorating during the packaging process.
