What is Soybean Protein Concentrate (SPC)?
Soybean Protein Concentrate (SPC) is produced by removing water-soluble or alcohol-soluble non-protein components from high-quality low-temperature defatted soybean meal (white flakes). With a protein content of ≥65%, SPC serves as a highly valuable nutritional additive, extensively used in:
- Food Industry: Meat processing, bakery, and plant-based meat substitutes.
- Feed Industry: High-end pet food, aquafeed, and animal nutrition to enhance product quality and extend freshness.
Core Process of Huatai Soybean Protein Concentrate Plant
Our turnkey SPC plant employs a continuous, environmentally friendly alcohol wash method to maximize protein yield and functional preservation.
1. Solvent Extraction
High-quality soybean white flakes (minimum 65% initial protein content) undergo precise weighting and dedusting. The flakes are then thoroughly mixed with an alcohol-water solvent to selectively extract and remove soluble sugars, minerals, and anti-nutritional factors.
2. High-Efficiency Desolventizing
The wet SPC meal exiting the extractor carries about 60%–65% solvent moisture.
- Mechanical Pre-pressing: Heavy-duty twin-screw extruders mechanically press the meal to reduce moisture down to 50%–55%.
- Thermal Desolventizing: Horizontal desolventizing equipment gently evaporates the remaining solvent, achieving a stable final moisture level of 7%–9%.
3. Molasses Concentration & Evaporation
The liquid by-product (soy molasses) is treated using advanced heaters and multi-effect evaporators. This process yields concentrated soy molasses with a solid content of over 55%, turning waste into a valuable commercial by-product.
4. Alcohol Recycling & Emission Control
To minimize solvent consumption and environmental impact, vaporized ethanol is recovered through a series of heavy-duty condensers. Residual gases pass through an advanced absorber system, ensuring only harmless, compliant air is vented.
5. Automated Crushing & Screening
The dried SPC is automatically transferred through storage tanks and magnetic separators to remove impurities. A specialized industrial crusher and rotary screener refine the concentrate into uniform, market-ready powder. Any oversized particles are automatically recirculated back to the crushing loop.
6. CIP (Cleaning in Place) System
Biosecurity is paramount in food engineering. Our plant features a fully integrated Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) system that utilizes dilute alkali and hot water circulation to disinfect equipment thoroughly without disassembly.
