Industrial-Grade Soy Protein Concentrate

Soybean Protein Concentrate (SPC) is produced by removing water-soluble and alcohol-soluble non-protein components from high-quality low-temperature defatted soybean meal (white flakes). With a protein content of ≥65%, SPC is a highly valuable nutritional additive used in meat processing, bakery and plant-based meat substitutes in the food industry, and in high-end pet food, aquafeed and animal nutrition in the feed industry.

Soybean Protein Concentrate Production Process

From white flakes to food- and feed-grade SPC — a closed-loop, zero-discharge process.

1. White Flake Feeding & Dedusting

Low-temperature defatted soybean meal (white flakes, minimum 65% protein) is precisely weighed, magnetically separated and dedusted to remove impurities before extraction.

2. Alcohol-Water Solvent Extraction

White flakes are thoroughly mixed with an alcohol-water solvent that selectively extracts and removes soluble sugars, minerals and anti-nutritional factors.

3. Mechanical Pre-Pressing

Heavy-duty twin-screw extruders press the wet SPC meal, reducing moisture from about 60–65% down to 50–55%.

4. Thermal Desolventizing

Horizontal desolventizing equipment gently evaporates the remaining solvent, bringing the meal to a stable final moisture of 7–9%.

5. Soy Molasses Concentration

The liquid by-product (soy molasses) is treated with heaters and multi-effect evaporators, yielding concentrated molasses with solids content above 55% — a valuable commercial by-product.

6. Alcohol Recovery & Emission Control

Vaporized ethanol is recovered through heavy-duty condensers; residual gases pass through an advanced absorber system so only compliant, harmless air is vented.

7. Automated Crushing & Screening

Dried SPC passes through magnetic separators, an industrial crusher and a rotary screener; oversized particles are automatically recirculated to the crushing loop.

8. Functional Modification

Through enzyme, shear and heat-treatment modification, key functional indexes of our SPC can exceed standard soybean protein isolates (SPI).

9. CIP & Automated Packaging

A fully integrated Cleaning-in-Place system disinfects equipment with dilute alkali and hot water; finished SPC is automatically packed and stored under PLC control.

Twin-screw pre-pressing and horizontal desolventizers reduce moisture to 7–9%; multi-effect evaporators concentrate soy molasses to >55% solids.
